JEFF SMITH MEMORIAL DONATION

It is with deep sadness that we share the recent passing of one of our members, Jeff Smith. Jeff had a love for detecting, and was a regular attendee at our meetings and events. While we will miss his physical presence, his spirit and love for the hobby will forever live on in our memories and hearts.

His family has asked us to set up a memorial donation option for those intererested in supporting Michigan Treasure Hunters. All money collected will be used toward continuing our goal of education and advancing the popularity of our club and the metal detecting hobby.

MEGA HUNT - SEPTEMBER 13, 2026

One of our premier events of the year will take place on September 13, 2026 in Livonia, MI at Stymelski Park.

The MEGA HUNT.

Registration begins at 9:30am.

Three hunts will be held during the day with the first one starting at 10:30am. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to register.

These are seeded hunts with thousands of coins to find throughout the day, and dozens of prize tokens redeemable for silver, gold and other prizes.

All paid members of the **in-person annual membership** MTH club are welcome to participate. If you are not currently a member, you may sign up at the event. Membership is $40.

The first 2 hunts of the day are free, and an optional 3rd hunt will be available for a nominal entry fee.

This is also a "potluck" event. The main protein, water, utensils, etc. will be provided by the club, but please bring an appetizer, salad, fruit, dessert, or something similar for like 10-12 people.

FALL DETECTING WEEKEND - SEPTEMBER 18-20, 2026

One of the many benefits MTH membership provides is the opportunity to attend a weekend hunt each year. 2026 is no exception. Our hunt this year is scheduled for the Sept. 18-20 weekend.

Always within driving distance from SE Michigan, you'll get a couple nights lodging, pizza on Friday and 4 meals Sat./Sun., and a full day of digging on Saturday to find some goodies. This is a "natural" hunt - not a seeded hunt.

Our September meeting will feature a few rounds of Bingo for the club members to enjoy. Winners receive something blingy!

OCTOBER 4, 2026 - MEMORIAL HUNT

We hope all members can join us for a free, special hunt this year. Head over to Stymelski Park in Livonia for a celebration of life hunt in rememberance of one of our members, Jeff Smith, who passed away recently.

The hunt starts at 1pm. There will be refreshments served and lots of seeded coins and prizes to give away. This will be a free hunt to all members of the in-person MTH club.

Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes early to register.

This is a seeded hunt with silver, clad and tokens planted in the ground.

OCTOBER 2026 - FISH BOWL HUNT

Plans are underway to have our "fish bowl" hunt in October.  All donations collected during our monthly meetings to support this hunt go directly into the ground or for prizes. This is another free hunt for all our members of the in-person MTH club.

NOVEMBER 24, 2026 - CLUB MEETING

When it turns a little chilly and Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner - you know it's time for our annual Holiday Party!

We'll be celebrating yet another year of fun, friends and folly and are asking our membership to help us celebrate. Please bring a pot-luck style dish (appetizer-like) for the members to enjoy. We'll also be collecting donations for a new charity this year - the Michigan Humane Society. Check back soon for more details.

We'll also be presenting our annual donation to Seedlings, a Livonia-based charity that provides braille books to blind children everywhere.

And lets not forget - final nominations for officers and board members for 2027. Help us lead the club and provide activities and benefits that our members can enjoy.

Come share some holiday cheer as we close out 2026 in style.
